Music takes me out of my comfort zone. I have an odd, eclectic taste in music based entirely on whether I can hear one or two lines of the lyrics or not. Or sometimes I will love the tune and have no idea what the song is, only to be told it is something dire and laughable and no one in their right mind would like it.

There’s something interesting in the presence of a signer onstage – are they ‘meant’ to be there? Are they visible to the characters? This is a starting point for a theatrical device that uses the presence/absence of the signers on stage to suggest the instability of what we’re seeing, that there may be another world, or people around us.
